CUC in Refugium?

    i would think that if you add live rock, the cuc will form on its own since there shouldn't be anything in there to eat them. i put lr rock in my refugium and never added a clean up crew. Now there are all kinds of snails, brittle stars, bristle worms, and other life forms in there.

    I put a couple of snails in mine and now there are almost a dozen and one medium sized hermit. They all seam to be doing well. There seams to be enough for them to eat.

    That's kind of the point though of a refugium, isn't it? Cyano is unsightly, maybe some flow for that; but algae like GHA is basically a type of macro algae - like chaeto.

    i have some crabs in my fuge, but thats because I banished them there lol

    i have a few banished crabs in my fuge as well. the most recent inmate was a crab that i caught eating my acro. i thought he was a commensal crab at first and then realized he was not friendly. i need to start looking these guys up when i spot them. :)
