Default What brand test kit for Mag??

I am looking online to purchase a new test kit for magnesium....i'm looking at either Elos or Seachem. Just curoius to see what others thought of the brands and comments on using them. The Elos is about $10 less than seachem, but i want a good accurate consistant reading.

I've read enough threads like this that *I* would feel confident any one would be a good choice.

I hear that.

I use the Seachem Reef Status Mag kit. I like it. Easy to read.

I've got to second this. I've used Red Sea for other tests like alk, N03 etc and was not impressed But I got into a crunch a month ago and ordered a RedSea Mag test. IMO as long as you follow the instructions to the tee it's pretty accurate. The color change can be a little challenging but I've not had problems with mine so far. Salifert is my usual brand tho.

For the Mag kit, Red Sea isn't all too bad with the color change; you just needa pay attention and take it slow. It's nothing like their Alk kit, where the color never turns to the "finish" color, just straight to "over".

I have the Seachem kit also, Seachem is the only manufacturer that has a reference solution to see if you are performing the test properly. It is easy to use also.
