Clearmax Phosphate Remover

    I started using Fluval® Clearmax Phosphate Remover (3.52-oz bag) in my AquaClear 50 HOB filter on 7-14-2011. I currently can't test for phosphates, so how often should I change this media out?

    My tank has been set up since Feburary with livestock in it for about 1.5 to 2 months now.

    Change it by the package recommendation and get yourself a PO4 test kit ASAP.

    I still can't test for phosphates, but I did notice that the cyano algae that was looking like it was stringy is not longer stringy. I assume this is a good thing and the Clearmax is doing its job. It has only been 3 days now I think that I have been using it.
