I decided to start a build thread for my Office Pico. I wanted something small to keep in my office at work and thus the following came about:

The tank you see below was built by Aqua-Crylic (aka Aquatica). It is a deep blue 7.5 gallon (12x12x12) that has been customized with a false wall and media rack. The total display looks to be approx 5.5 gallons, but I need to measure to find out for sure.

    Equipment:

    • Custom Deep Blue 12" Cube
    • 2 Hydor Evolution Pico 400
    • Custom Media Rack
    • BoostLED Par 30
    • Hydor Theo 25w Heater
    • ReefKeeper Lite

Well, I took my pico to my office yesterday and after work I filled it up with water to do a wet test.

Water all filled up and pumps running. Small problem though (I think).

The water level seems too high so I took a small bit out. Doing so made the back section lower in total volume and the front section returned to the original level. It almost seems like it is pumping more out than it can take in. Does this make sense?

There is no gurgle noise or anything, but there is a slow trickle of water noise that is coming into the return section.

    Any suggestions?

If the pumps are adjustable you could just dial down the gph and it may drop the level slightly. Other than that not too sure.

They are adjustable. I am going to try that, but will have to drain the water first to be able to get the pumps out.

The other thing I noticed is that when I put my hand in the tank, the water level of course rises. I'm hoping that when I add the rock in there, that this may help as well.

Planning to add the rock and then adjust flow if needed. Hopefully this will help.

Looking great! Those frags will be a sweet addition. Do you have anything planned for auto top off?
