Finally after months of intensive planning and hand crafting my tank is done wet and running...

A little project background and set up info then the pics...if you bore easy skip to the pics, but i promise to keep this short..

in the beginning all i had was this:

    and a plan:

after an hour here and an hour there i had this, home made 12x12x12 cube for a sump:

some drilling and hammering and a couple more hours i had this:

then i laid out and made an LED array:

brought it all inside case it was too cold to paint and i ended up with this:

then another couple hours later it looked like this:

then i decided to wet test in the middle of the kitchen...

then it was setup in its new home:

and now the water has finally cleared enough to see in it..

I'm thinking a Sohal Tang would look great in there. hehe

Looks very good. What did you make the pendant out of? PVC cap?

green macros of some sort, red macros of some sort, rics, zoas, acans, chalices, purple cespitularia, and a green slimer, three sexy shrimp, a cleaner shrimp, and a blood shrimp as well as two pompom crabs...

i am just not too sure about any aggression between all the different shrimp and the crabs though...

but sadly that is all so far away...:(

and from what i understand finding sexy shrimp and pompom crabs in Ontario is next to impossible..:(

yeah the light is 1/2" PVC with a 6" PVC cap, i used an electrical reducing bushing to get the pipe nicely into the 6" cap and i cut the ring of one end of another bushing to create a trim ring where the PVC pipe comes out of the marble top...i also had to heat form some PVC to fit inside the cap so i could thicken the wall where the armature attached and where the LED array is screwed to it..
