I added 200 lbs of live rock from gulf-view.com to my 110 gal today. I was pretty much able to create the layout I was envisioning which is surprising since I was overwhelmed by all the rock at first. I ordered more than usual because I know the aquacultured rock is pretty dense and I wanted to make sure I had enough to build the structure I wanted. When I was starting out, I thought I had way too much. However, I ended up using every piece including a medium and small piece that I placed in the refugium.

Below is a picture of the aquascaping. Tomorrow, I need to prune back the Halimeda. There's tons of it as well as many other macroalgae species. These pictures don't do the rock justice. It really looks great and has lots of life (of which I expect some die off as the tank now sits to cycle.)

    Anyway, here is a pic:

Did you know you were getting all that halimeda/macro when you made the purchase?

I knew there would probably be some, but was surprised to see so much. It's not a big deal, I can prune it back.

Is that caulerpa in the back on the left side of the pic? What other types of macro came with the rock?

3 actually. They are Koralia 3s which are rated at 850gph. My return from the sump/refugium in the basement should be about 700gph, so I figure I should have about 3250 gph. (I was shooting for at least ~30x turnover.)

I'm not sure how I'll end up arranging the flow in the tank. For now, I just pointed them so that I didn't see any dead spots and tried to make sure plenty was going behind the rocks as well.
