caribbean live sand won't clear up?

I recently added 2 40lb bags of caribbean live and on friday. it has not cleared up at all. i have a 90 g w/ overflow and a 30 g sump. the only filter is a little filter fiber on the inlet of the sump, and the pre filter on the 9.5 mag pump. any suggestions or help please???

Depending on how you added the sand it may take up to a week or more to fully clear up. Give it some more time. May want to turn off a power head or two if you want.

If you have one laying around like I always do, an oversize HOB or canister filter will help dramatically.

you need a filter to collect all the silt,it'll never settle with out some kind of filter.I used the same stuff for my tank and it took a week to clear up (with filters) and i had to clean EVERYTHING from the silt leftovers.

if its "carribsea" live sand it will do that every single time. I hate that stuff. lol

you just have to rinse it or use with a filter sock.

i set up my sump with a glass inlet, so its kinda hard to get a filter sock in there... yea I'm stupid.. haha
