Red Sea Coral Pro Salt or Tropic Marine Pro Reef

Which is the best salt to use? I do 20% water changes every week, religiously!!!! I also am not dosing anything as of now and i am using Red Sea Coral Pro Salt and have not problems but have heard that Tropic Marine Pro Reef is just as good, if not better that Red Sea Coral Pro Salt.

the Red Sea is available from more outlets where I shop so I stuck with that
both good choices IMO

Right on Steve! I think i might give the Tropic Marine a whirl cuz you can purchase more of it at a time! LOL

 

I use TM pro reef and it's good. It's all I have ever used. It dissolves quickly and clears within minutes of mixing. I never even have a problem when I need to do emergency changes and not letting it sit 24 hours. Even 15 minutes after mixing and dumping it in my tanks, I have no ill-effects. In fact, my livestock will immediately perk up when I do this.

 

i allways use red sea coral pro or just red sea. tropicmarine is to expensive for me.

I can say that regular red sea works very well for me, and if you look at the links, you will see it is the closest thing out there to natural sea water. The coral pro has a little more magnesium, alk and calcium than red sea.

 

I had problems with Red Sea salt, I would get metal left in my water change tub after mixing the salt. I would not recommend it. Cause algae issues for my tank. I now use ESV Salt, it mixes up clearer than any other salt I have ever tried.
