| I have 692 watts over a 90 gal, which is 7.69. But if you take into consideration the amount of LR that is in the tank, its probably alot more than that. 692 divided into 75 gals = 9.23 wpg _________ 9YR OLD 90G/55g custom sump/refug Mag18 Aquac 180skimmer 692w MH AC jr,yel&kole tang,midas&convict blenny,B&G chromies,Blk/yel fin chromie blackcap,nemo,neon goby,6line; Blastomussa Merleti,Acan ,BUBBLE,Torch,LTA, Acropora(2) Moon, assort zoas, yel& G star polyps, P&B ricordia, montiporas, cup&candy corals, xenias,B/G mush,flower ane(2), cherry red mussa, dusters,cleaning crew.. |

| the poll is based off of the tank size not what might be left in the tank after we stuff everything in it. |

I get by on much, much less light then you guys...but I only keep softies with some frogspawn thrown in. Anenomes do fine. No Algae problems, heat problems and I'll bet a considerable less electric bill. _________ AG "125," AquaC EV 180, 30 gal sump, "SCWD", 80 lbs LR, CoralSeaLife "Moonlite" Hood, PFO 250W HQI Mini-Pendant (SPS HQI 14000k bulb)

| There is a lot that factors into the whole wpg ratio that isnt spoken about much. The wpg ratio's are usless and outdated IMO.
On one of my tanks, 75g w/4x54w T5HO=216w which comes out to 2.88wpg but once you factor in lumens(intensity) it comes out 388w's so its really 5.17wpg. Then when you think about your sand bed, mine being 3"s, then my tank is a 67g, then it jumps up to almost 6wpg, then factor in everything in the top half of the tank, thats 33g then it jumps over 11wpg for everything in the top half of the tank.
If you try to factor in liverock, thats about pointless because rock is solid, light doesnt penetrate through it. You're basically trying to figure out wpg per depth of tank not total water volume. _________ [center]Renaming Our Corals "Believe those who are seeking the truth; doubt those who find it." | So, if you're going off depth could you maybe point out how much wattage for a couple of common depths of tanks? Thanks! |

| Depends on the lights and corals you plan on keeping, there is a 1,000,001 different varibles that can be calculated in there. |
