I am starting a pico reef tank and was looking at differen't lighting systems. I was surfing the web and came across this guy who used self ballasted spotlights that hook into a regular outlet. He was growing acros in the tank! Can you actually do this or am I seeing things??

those are lights not available in the us due to legal issues. They are probably the same freakin thing we use on aquariums but can't be released over here due to patent laws.

WOW, to say the least. Very simple but beautiful. I like it, to bad they didnt show pics of the "working" side of it, b/c Marcello DIY everything. That lighting set up is also nice, theres gotta be a way that they can be shipped. If drugs make it here, so can those lights.

wait? these lights are made in japan but they cant ship to the US.
The Nissan Skyline was the same thing though where it couldnt be shipped to the US. Some people were able to get their hands on this car by dismantling it before shipping, then rebuilding it here...on to something?
maybe would it be legal to ship in parts rather than as a whole?

Im sure they could be leaked but the cost would end up being more than lights. Anyone try out those LED socket lights yet?
