Loaded with Cree XP-G and Cree XP-E LEDs, the new AquaIllumination Nano Sol should interest more than a few nano aquarists out there that want the par without the heat. Some extra coolness comes with the built in controller that lets you adjust light intensity with your fingertips. 400 par at 24" with a spot spread. The little guy can swing. MSRP $350 - $400. Available around November. More below.

    Optional Remote SOL Controller

The Nano Sol has many of the same features as the current Sol with the following differences:

    • Approximately half the size, half the LED’s and half the power (approximately 35 watts at full power) of the Sol.
    • Designed for nano tanks and for spotlighting applications in larger tanks.
    • Built-in Controller. (Also works with the standard Sol Controller.)
    • Independent control of White, Blue and Royal Blue LED’s. (Currently on the Sol the Blue and Royal Blue are controlled together.)

AI also has high par 'Wave' bars coming out to throw in a hood:

If I don't win the marineland LED contest, I think I may try this bad boy out.

Hey Matt did he show you the minute by minute capabilities of this little light? It was awesome! He set it up to run a day that was "partially cloudy" for me. Like blowing clouds covering the sun kind of set up. It would go from 100% to 80 and back over the 5 minute period he programmed. This is definitely something to look into.

Ugh I can't remember his name and want to stop calling him "he" lol. He was going to show me a sunrise to noon to sunset program condensed into 5 minutes but then a crowd showed up and I got bored and walked away.

    8) Cool. So he did that with a sequence of button pushing with the 2 circles shown and the +/- ... or are there more buttons somewhere? How to you set times exactly without a display?

There was a controller with a LCD display. I didn't have my camera on Friday evening and never made it back to the booth. Man am I going to feel like an idiot if I have the wrong LED system. :-/
