Depends on how big your going...I just upgraded to a nice HOB "CPR" Skimmer.
From What I've heard its a nice piece of equipment....to early for me to tell yet.
But it has some good reviews...Good Luck.

as said it depends on the tank size, I have an aqua-c remora with a maxi-jet 1200 powering it, and its working great, the skimate is very dark stuff, its fairly quiet too, I have the overflow bo too for it so it skims the water from the surface and theres enough room in that overflow chamber to run a bag of carbon...so for my 46 gal. tank its working great...

My two recommendations are the AquaC Remora and the Octopus BH-100F. If you want to drool. Look at the Deltec MC500. The MCE600 is sweet too.

I have a Aqua C Remora on my 40 and it works great. I`ve been very happy with it so far.

gotta go with the remora, I also use it with a maxi jet 1200. It is so incredibly easy to use too. Just plug and play, the only thing that you have to adjust is the height of the collection cup depending if you want to wet skim or not. I have it on a 55

I have a Bak-Pak2, it's ok, but it is loud. I would get a Remora if I knew then what I know now.
