Can anyone please tell me how to modify my coralife aqualight pro HQI fixture to accept IceCap 250W ballast?

Somebody told me to remove a component from the fixture, because the IceCap already has one installed in their ballast. But I don’t what it is. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

I'm sure this has been done. Can someone pinpoint to me the right direction?

    Thanks

Ive dont the same thing to mine but with galaxy ballast.

You want to remove the ignitor since its designed for the stock magnetic ballasts.

The e ballasts does not need an ignitor.

So simply remove the ignitor and thats it.

Connect the new e ballast directly to the sockets.

Thank you. I've read everything on that thread.

I have the same ignitor for my 48" 250W.

How do you re-wire it? Can I use the existing wire (power cord) that came with the fixture?

I have attached another pic, one wire go to the left side of the light and the other to the right side. What should I do?

you need to physically remove that from your fixture. its not needed. you cant even use it for your new ballast. Its just to fire up the bulb fro the stock magnetic ballasts.

Your electronic ballast simply cannot and does not use it. The ignitor is good as garbage with your new ballast.

Keep the old ballast and sell them on ebay. that what I did with my 150w stock ballasts. made some good money back too.

Did take any pictures after the mod?
Did you connect the reuse the power cord that came with the fixture or you have to buy new?
Is there any else to need to buy beside the new ballast?

    Procedure:
Please look at the picture, and tell me if it is correct.

    1. Remove the ignitor
    2. Connect the 2 White wires together
    3. Connect the White and Red wire together

Am I on the right track?

    Thanks
