    Our Lionfish Lineup.

There is a lion out there for everyone, as there are lions suited for tanks from the nanocubes to the Big Boy setups. Here’s some of our lions from the smallest to the largest.

    Dendrochirus biocellatus (Fu Manchu)

No, these are our personal babies.

The Fu Manchu will stay the smallest, especially if a juvenile lion is purchased and not a mature specimen. Ours lived in a 25g for 3 years and went to the 100g a month ago. It wasn't because he outgrew the tank, but he was always destined to be with a group of lions once he became of age. If aquascaped properly, a 28g JBJ nanocube could work well.

Having said that, they are the hardest to wean to frozen. But with some tips you should be able to get them to convert.

Here's a link where you can get a quick comparison of the different lions. If you go to the Dendrochirus biocellatus you'll see more info, some videos and a link to even more pictures..... I like pictures :)

Ah! That would be the barberi? It seems I forgot the link to the sphex on the quick stats page and you can't see much of them above.

I think he cost $12.... less than $20 for sure. That's LFS costs, not wholesale. We didn't have the business back then.

He doesn't look all cute like that anymore. He was so young in those pics. He's a brute of a fish now with a totally different look. But he has awesome glowing red eyes. None of the others have that.
