PAR results at bottom of this post if you dont want to read coral growth results....

Well I finally was able to get a friend over to get a par reading on my taotronics lights.. Before posting my results, Since I have not any experience in typical growth I will break down the growth in some of my corals:

    125 Gallon tank
    2x Taotronics dimmable 120W lights
I have over 70 corals (SPS, LPS, softies)
    2 Tunze PH 7095 controller
Lights run time - Blue 12hr/day, White 8hr/day
    Calcium 420-450
    Alk 7.5 - 8.4
    Mag 1260-1380
**Alk bottoms out quickly so I have to dose it and occasionally dose calcium..
    Weekly 20% water changes

    Using lights 8 weeks:
Xenia & Kenya trees - Since switching to the Tao's I have had to throw all my xenia out, I had waving hand pink and blue... It was thrown out as it has almost quadrupled in size and taking over EVERYTHING!

Mushrooms, Ricordea & Yuma - Almost doubled in size

Frogspawn and Hammer - Obvious growth, not doubled by any means be definitely grown.. Very helathy and happy looking.. Lots of babies

Torch Corals - both are huge.. They let out much much farther than the gys tank I got them from.. Not sure if they have grown doubled but they let out doubled

Candy canes - Obvious growth, multiple head splitting

Crocea clam - No obvious growth

Star Polyp (multiple types) - Major growth

    Lobo's - slight growth

Zoas - spreading out.. Obvious growth

Blastos - has added 2 heads (had 4 to begin with)

Nepthea tree, finger leather - Obvious growth, very obvious

    Toadstool
    - No obvious growth.. Difficulty finding a place ts happy.. doesnt open regularly...

    Galaxia - No obvious change

Favia, war coral, chalice - some growth, not significant
***Bleached an area of a favia from placing to high in tank... Lowered about 3 weeks ago and no more color loss and seems to be getting a little color back

Goniopora (1 large purple and 1 large pink) - signs of growth but not significant

Cali blue tort - signs of growth but not significant

Efflorescence - No obvious signs of growth ***only been in tank for 3 weeks

Setosa (3 separate pieces) - Extreme growth.......

    Monti Cap (2 separate)
    - Extreme growth.......

Hiyacinthus table - No obvious signs.. In tank for 4 weeks

    Now for the PAR readings:

    55% whites and 100% blues

    Water surface (10" from fixture) = 400
    6" below water surface = 330
    12" below water surface = 210
    18" below water surface = 177
    24" below water surface = 147
Note: Tank depth only 22" however due to the angle the lights are hung I was able to read the PAR levels at the 24" mark..

There are lots of pictures of my tank just after the lights and my tank on the first 2 pages of the following link..... I believe page 2 of the link is where the pictures of my lights with whites on are at and shows how I have them hung.

    http://www.3reef.com/forums/led-aqu...-taotronics-light-review-good-bad-134342.html

I am ordering additional leds tomorrow from rapid..I am starting with 24 more additional leds... I am adding 2 24" bars that will have 4 cyan, 4 violet and 4 lunar in each.... I may add some whites as well (cool white, warm white)... I am attempting to give a better spectrum, transition of dusk/dawn, and adding lunar lights at night.. I may need to add more than that but thats where I thought I would start.. I can add more if needed... I may be going about it all the wrong way.. I am open for advice....

Well honestly that's a good question. I have assumed they are taotronics. I looked on the light and do not see a name. No box and on the shipping/order email it jut says 120w dimmable and doesn't have a brand.

Thanks. I was about to buy a similar unit (just with greens, reds and violets in addition to blues and whites), but it wasn't taotronic (it's what you linked).
