    How often do mantis shrimp eat? I have one thats roughly 3 maybe 4 inches and he doesn't seem to eat much. It concerns me. I throw in food like dead shrimp and stuff and he picks it up and throws it out of his burrow. Normal?

    What species do you have? A lot depends on species, what they are eating (are there natural live foods in the tank too), etc. We need a little more detail to help.

    you may want to try diff types of food. also i dont know how often you feed him or her but i only fed mine once every 2-3 days also is it a smasher? if it is go get some turbo snails for him too eat they also like the little neck clams.

    Clams on the Half Shell by H2O Life. Smasher (that's what the kids named it) will eat krill if I put it in his burrow, but he comes looking for clams as soon as I put them in the tank. I put one drop of garlic and one drop of VitaChem on each one. He gets one a day.
