Has anyone ever found one in their tank? Anyone ever manage to get a good picture? We have a white crab (looks very similar to emerald for the body shape). The pinchers/claws however are different then my emeralds. Only the pincher is brown. The legs are white with lighter brown stripes on the legs. I have tried numerous time to get a picture but it never actually comes too far out of the hole in the rock we discovered it in and we only see it at night when the tank is dark. Also, it is not furry looking like a teddy bear crab. Any insight as to if it is a gorilla crab and is it a bad crab would be helpful. |

Sounds like it might be a porcelain crab, which is reef-safe and can be hosted by an anemone. Hard to say for certain without a pic, though. Here's a site you can check out: Marine Crabs |
