    That's actually kinda cool.
    Just need to tweak the cap design a bit for us sumpless folks...
    I've thrown the idea for something simple like this for my 5.5 gal but figure I should just be better about water changes haha

    I thought some of you may be interested, hence my post with the link.

    I'm a real DIY'er kind of guy! I have a DIY LED hanger for my LED's (led's not DIY however); DIY intank overflow; DIY HOB Overflow; DIY sump; etc.

    Soon to be DIY Phosguard/GAC reactor!

    hey sounds cool but wont the plastic of the gatoraid bottle break down after a while?

    It looks like a simple enough design that you could make a new one when it's time to change the media.

    Someone asked that very question in the thread I linked.

    Apparently not, not for a LONG time anyways.

    It's recycleable, not biodegradeable.
