I am starting my first acrilic sump today
    I purchased a sheet of 1/2" acrilic from a distributor for $174
    The glue was $30 gal.
I Know 1/2" is over kill but better safe than sorry.
My scene shop is empty today so I should be able to finish it.
I'll post pictures of the process When I'm Done

The sump is done it took about 6 hours it mesures 24"X15.5"X24" and holds better than 38 gal. there is little chance that a 72 gal tank will overflow it. By Tuesday I should be able to post pictures.

That's very nice - and original!
I don't think I've seen one quite like that.
