Default Tubing Flow Rate

Does anyone know the flow rate of different diameter tubing? Like 1/2'' 1/4''. I need to know because i have a continuous siphon overflow and a mag 3 pump, which at 4' flows at about 230gph. The tubing would be used to suck the water out of the overflow and into the sump. If its sucks too much, then it will loose its siphon and stop, but if it sucks to little the overflow will fill up and the surface skimmer will be ruined.

There is no way to do what you want to many variables involved cold water flows at a different rate then warm water thats up and down also salinity makes a huge difference in flow rates down and hydrostatic head pressure back up. You are heading for a flood why not get a good HOB overflow and save yourself a flood and loss of tank,, Then even with a properly designed overflow it can still lock up and or loose siphon and flood. But at least you lowered the chances a bunch. Don't do it..Good Luck if you do.. and this is not an opinion (:
