Silicone ?

    Does anyone know if using GE Silicone I in a sump is concidered safe ?
    I ran out of the aqualium silicone and need to glue in more baffles within the sump

    As far as I know, as long as there are no additives, then you are fine. 100% silly-cone. Some of the bottles will actually have a note on the tube that says "aquarium safe".

    I'm pretty sure that's the brand i used. As pharmrjohn said, just make sure its 100% silicone and you should be fine.

    As long as you just use it for baffles within the sump..
    And not much pressure, you'l be OK..
    But in making a tank..
    Where there will be alot of pressure.. You HAVE to use the other stuff..

    Like PharmJohn said, make sure it doesn't say anything along the lines of mildew resistant or mold resistant, cause the additives could kill your fish and possibly your tank!!! :-(

    Thanks all. I ended up going with the smaller Aquarium sealant stuff.
    I actually couldnt get the large tube and dispenser inside to seal it anyway.
