Advanced Aquarist has published a whooper of an article this morning. The authors set out to create a standardized method for measuring propeller pump output and tested all the popular propeller pumps on the market today.

I don't think Tunze purposely misled anyone. It's just up until now, there was no standardized method to test flow rates of wide dispersion pumps. Tunze was sent the study and agreed with its assessment, so they might either revise their ratings or maybe change their pump design. IMO, the easiest change they could do is to make the output wider. I think this would increase the flow rates and dispersion quite a bit.

Next step is to get all companies to adopt the method used. Much easier said than done most likely.
