help just bought tank cant get film off glass

    WWell i purchased a tank from someone off craigslist well i failed to really look at the glass and just thought it was dirty well theres a cloudy film on the inside of the glass and ive tried everything and cant seem to remove it. Should i just cut my losses and search for another tank ordo you guys have a secret that could possibly help me out

    You didn't mention, have you tried vinegar?

    Scrub with vinegar and razor blades.

    someone else on here also had some success cleaning glass with CLR (the lime/rust remover stuff you use on shower heads, etc.)

    Ive tried vinegar clr bartenders best friend or something like that nothing even made a dent in it.

    Something's got to work. Is it internally smoked glass? What?

    With the brains on this site alone- mine excluded mind you, we can get this off!

    If it got on, something will take it off!

    Did you put water in the tank? Sometimes you cant see the film with water in it.

    Hate to say, but it sounds like the glass may be scored from excess scraping or scrubbing. Vinegar removes most anything, including coralline.
