I had a chromis decide to take a trip over the overflow box about a month or so ago...and he is still in there...he hasnt gotten sucked down into the sump yet (like i was hoping)..but I refuse to take apart my plumbing in order to fit a net in to try and catch a $4 fish...I was wondering if anyone on here had any ideas....or is he just gonna have to stay in his own little 10G (roughly) piece of the tank till he makes a wrong move and gets sucked down?

I'm assuming you can't get your hand down there and this isn't a case of someone squeamish about touching fish ;D j/k

I'd need to see a pic before I could come up with ideas. Otherwise I'll just throw out using a soda bottle fish trap.

I think the latter is the case if you are not willing to take apart the plumbing.

How about a one of those serving ladles with the holes in it for draining corn and such? You could probably pick one up at the dollar store.

my drain is 2" and return is 1" PVC so that leaves very little room for hands and soda bottles...i thought about using my old siphoner...but it wont do much good cuz once i lift it from the water it will break the siphon and he'll just fall right back in.....:::sigh::: stupid little fish lol

That might be an option...hmmm..or maybe i can at least get one of these in there and chase him into making the mistake of getting too close to the drain

a pic wont do any good...my overflows are black and painted black from the outside as to not be able to see the pipes...they are corner overflows
