    Hello again,

This forum has helped me tremendously, and I'd like to thank everyone for allowing this site to do just that:). I come back to you all with another general question. I've been reading a lot about the different things to add to your tank that accomplish various things, ie. iodine for molting and whatnot.

I was just wondering, what additives do you all add to your tanks?

This is another topic that gets all kinds of opinions, and here is my grasp of it. The way I see it is if you dont do any WC's, you need/should add additives. If you do WC's then you shouldnt add anything. Some ppl havent done any WC in many yrs, so to replace all the nutrients that fish and corals consume, you have to add. Fore those who do regular WC, rarely add anything b/c its in the freshly made SW. I hope I explained it. Luna

Even if you're regularly adding only 2-3 drops per week? I know "overdosing" on iodine can happen if you're not testing... but from what I hear the Iodine testkits have a fairly short shelf life, so i'm wondering if the kits we buy from our LFS' are even good?!

Ditto...Water changes take care of all for me, along with some Ca dosing if you need more.
