Carbon Block VS Activated Carbon Filter

    Hi.
    I have found alot of informationa about ro pre filters and im confused now.

    What is a difference between carbon block filter and activated carbon filter ??

    I think activated carbon tends to imply granular varieties, while block means just that, a block.

    Activated carbon can cause channeling, while a block is less likely to do so.

    Activated carbon is granular and usually has a very low adsorption capacity compared to a good block. The differences can be quite remarkable such as 20,000 gallons of water at 0.5 mg/L chlorine residual for a good carbon block and only 300 total gallons for GAC. Activated carbon is best for final drinking water taste and odor not for RO pretreatment.
