pvc cement & plumbing

    Do I use solvent cement for the white pvc pipe ? Will it leak anything into my water that is bad for my tank ? I am plumbing a refugium and not sure if I should use the cement that is made for this type of pipe or do I use silicone thats safe for marine . Thank you for reading .

    i use the regular store bought pvc cement with the primer all the time on aquariums. allow it to dry and you wont have an issue

    It dries very quickly and you can use very quickly afterwards. I would say wait at least a 1/2 hour, but you should be fine.

    I used normal PCV glue ( and the purple stuff). after I let it fully dry, I ran "test" water through the pipes to wash them out. It was prob over kill, but on all of the "outputs" I connected a tube/hose to empty into a bucket.



    While it does dry in less then 30 mins, I waited a min of 2 hours, ( being way over cautious )
