    Caribbean Red Mushroom.

    COMMON NAME Colored Corallimorph
    SCIENTIFIC NAME Discosoma sp.
    ORIGIN Caribbean
    TEMPERATURE RANGE 76-84
    SPECIFIC GRAVITY RANGE 1.020-1.024
    PH RANGE 8.0-8.4
    LIGHTING Moderate
    DIET Photosynthetic, Carnivore
    DIFFICULTY Easy
    REEF SAFE Yes

The Red Mushroom can grow to roughly 3-4 inches, but typically split before they reach this size.

Mushrooms reproduce in ways that are conducive to aquarium keeping. They do so via pedal laceration and fission. In pedal laceration the mushroom will leave small fragments of its former self on the rock, and then readjust it’s position to allow that fragment to sprout. During fission, the mushroom will split down the middle, producing two separate mushrooms.

Individuals form compact colonies over reef rock, Mushrooms range in color from brown to green to blue and in rare cases orange or red. The surface of the polyp is tightly beaded like a carpet anemone. These mushrooms are Carnivorous and photosynthetic.

Mushrooms have a symbiotic relationship with photosynthetic algae and therefore need some form of reef lighting to nourish them, They do best in moderate, rather than strong lighting, so if you have metal halides, place them at the bottom of the aquarium and gradually move them to their desired position over the course of a few weeks. Other than this, Mushrooms need little else. They will often times consume tiny crustaceans like copepods. But if they refrain from consuming these tiny items, it is not a big deal.

They can coexist peacefully with just about any other coral, but it’s important to keep in mind that they follow the rules of most other corals as well, don’t allow other species to come in direct contact.

I guess technically, I could post pics of my shrooms. Since, it's such a commonly used name for the coral.
