    frogpawn

    Good question.

To me rapid spread is the possibility of doubling in size in say 2 months or so. Your polyps, zoanthus and xenia could all double in size every other month. The frogspawn is a lot slower grower, I would say a good healty one can double about every 6 months or so if the conditions are perfect.

But I know of no source for this info other than experience. Max growth rate is dependant on a lot of things though, water quality, light intensity, light quality, light time, water movement, food supply etc.

Pulsing xenia grows like wildfire. It is likely responsible for the sinking of Atlantis.... the destruction of the Roman empire.... the birth of Aiptasia! Be verrrrry very careful with this stuff... I've seen many a tank over run by this coralonic plague.

PS: I also attribute the loss of the Detroit Red Wings to xenia as well.
