I'm sitting here at the computer and happen to glance over and see my new bucket of Tropic Marin. How the handle falls, it separates 'Meersalz" and "Sea Salt" and I think, this may be beneficial to cook with. Our normal salt that is used for cooking has been highly refined, bleached, mixed with dextrose and other chemicals such as calcium silicate. As long as I am eating processed chemicals why not put something a bit better into my body, like Tropic Marin.

Is there anything in this salt that is good for fishes but bad for humans?

Does anyone out there flavor with "real" sea salt such as Reef Crystals or Tropic Marin?

Mortin Sea Salt $2/1 pound = $116 per 58 pounds (200 gallon mix equivalent)

Tropic Marin Pro Reef $75/58 pounds = $1.34 per pound

It seems Tropic Marin is cheaper than grocery store salt!

Don't consume artificial Reef salt mix. There is more in it than just salt! I heard it can be very bad for you.

it says not for human consumption on the pack. it's not really sea salt it's a mix of chemicals.
there is however natural sea salt for human use, sold in supermarkets.

I wouldn't eat it. Much more than just salt in there. All sorts of chemicals are included. Yea, this is why there are warnings on everything.
