Thanks. I have been reading a lot, and I wondered about putting two angels together, but the owners of my LFS said it would be alright. They are a salt water specialty store, so I was going on their opinion. Everybody has one, huh? I have to think about that one more. As far as the tang, as I have researched I it needs a lot of room to roam. I wondered if I kept my reef low so it would have more room if that might work ok, but now I'm rethinking that. Thanks for the warnings.

LFS's ARE NOT ALWAYS RELIABLE SOURCES OF INFO. I KNOW ONE THAT HAD A CLAM FALL OVER AND WAS TOO LAZY OR STUPID TO RIGHT THE CLAM BACK UP AND IT DIED, WHAT A WASTE. DON'T TRUST LFS'S, LIVEAQURIA.COM HAS A GOOD COMPATIBILITY CHART. http://www.liveaquaria.com/general/compatibility_chart.cfm

My first fish. Having trouble figuring out the food for them, but great posts in the Fish Food forum.

maybe i missed it but did you cycle your tank? ( you probably did, i just thought that was fast) just curious since you already have clowns and mushrooms?

Well, actually, I'm probably still cycling, but all my parameters are good and my LFS is walking me through this step by step. The fish, from what I've read, were not early I don't think, but the mushrooms were somewhat, but they told me since these were the most hardy, I'd be good with them now.

You should be alright, we cycled with clowns. And mushrooms can survive anything. But just to check, what are your params right now?

And yeah, scratch the tang and one of the angels, as well as the mandarin. Tangs need horizontal room more than tank size in a sense, but no matter what a 46bow will get real small real fast for a tang. You could keep a young tang in there for a little while, but then you'd either have to upgrade or get rid of the tang somehow. And 2 angels are just asking for a fight. I've heard that even in huge home aquariums two angels will find each other and fight. It'd be a very special case if they didn't fight. And with the mandarin, if you can't supply supplemental pods to feed them, you'll need a tank around 90+ gallons depending on how much rock is in the tank and how old the tank is. Packleader here kept a mandarin successfully in a 40 gallon, but he also bred his own pods continuously in 5 gallon buckets. A friend of mine has a mandarin in a 3 year old 29 reef and he also has pods being bred for it, as well as a tupperware fuge full of chaeto and meant specifically for pods. You'd need someone experienced to be able to pull things like that off, so a mandarin in a 46 is a no go for you.

Other than that it looks great! And like people have said, I'd be careful with LFS's sometimes. I've learned that 3reef advice takes priority over any LFS advice. And welcome to the 46 bow club :)
