I should have said seeding the tank. She bought a used 29 gallon which was new to her and I did a water change of 15 gallon in my tank and gave her the old water with instructions to add some fresh to it....I gave her some live rock and sand..,,some snails and crabs..and a week later gave her two Damsels, even gave her some food to feed them until she could get to the store. I did not send them out to die.
It was nothing cruel like a cycle....I just used the wrong word. I am an animals, fish, coral, people lover, and I know right from wrong. I am smart enough to know a fish wouldn't survive a complete cycle.
It was simply wrong wording on my part and I do apologize for any confusion it may have caused.

As far as trapping goes, I was successful in trapping my Domino Damsels in a very short time by using a soda bottle, cutting three sides in it, pushing it in, and adding food to the top. Not only did my Damsels go into it, so did my Cleaner Shrimp, my Angels, both my Clowns, and my Blue Tang. I caught almost the whole tank in about 15 minutes.
