Well its time for my first tankmate to leave, he is no longer wanted! for the last month i have bought 4 new fish and may they now RIP... first i thought it was my pistol shrimp, i would wake up to helpless, finless, gasping fish! but NO,, i have seen it with my own eyes  my yellow watchman goby is killing my new fish!
i have a question for anyone who may know, if i give him away and i buy a smaller new YWG can he get along with the pistol shrimp?

What kind of fish is he killing? How big is he? My YWG just keeps others out of his territory, but I can't imagine him killing anything....

I don't see why another fish wouldn't get along with the pistol.

the first one was a royal gramma, then a firefish goby, then a green mandarin, and the last one was another firefish, the bad thing was that all of them chose hiding places really close to the main burrow where my YWG and the pistol live. They all lasted one day exactly and i would wake up to see them with there fins all broken and some open wounds, so to not cause any diseases i would flush them! but today the firefish was barely swimming cause of his fins and then it happened my YWG jumped on him and bit him then took him into the tunnel! im really mad! he is really big since ive had him for more than 3 years about 4in!

I wonder if the YWG is taking them in for the pistol to finish them off?

The other recent goby that I got my YWG doesnt like him in his area at all but as for my other fish he doesnt mind including my royal gramma, lawnmower blenny, and mated clowns. I hear my tiger pistol shrimp snapping alot recently lol

My YWG was in a tank alone for a long time, 3". When I added a different type of goby he killed it even though it didn't go on his side of the tank. In other tanks the YWGs are small and play nice. I guess it's better to add them last because they're so territorial especially in older age.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
I recently saw my older YWG grab my large female clownfish by tail and try to pull her around. I really never suspected YWG could be aggressive but I am now a believer although I would like to think their more inclined to do it when their older and established.

wow, well thanks for telling me your personal experiences! i am going to have to give him away to my LFS and probably swap him for another younger YWG because mine is very big and he is too territorial now.
