So I have a yellow tang that only eats meaty food and does not take any veggie flakes from me.. I tried soaking the veggie flakes in garlic and still does not attract the yellow tang.. what should i try that will appeal to the yellow tang? lettuce? broccoli? or some seaweed? This is the second yellow tang i've tried and both of them never took veggie flakes.. bad luck for me i guess.. but what do you guys think? what kind of veggie source of food has worked for you guys to get yellow tangs to eat like a vegetarian it should be...? my last one lived for about a month on meaty foods but i think it eventually died becasue of no veggies..:-/

My yellow tang ate mysis and brine, but nothing like that. He still munched on algae. I would suggest Nori to try to entice him.

i would try green nori(dried seaweed) first. some fish will eat purple nori, almost no fish eat red nori. you can try lettuce and broccili after the green nori. usually fish will eat broccili and lettuce once they recognize its food but its more healthy for them to eat nori

Yep. Seaweed sheets, and FROZEN algae foods. A LOT of fish won't touch pellets or flake.

To get my mimic lemon peel tang to eat nori, we soaked it for a minute in kents garlic, Then attatched it to a clip in the tank. I heard that the garlic can also help with their color. I dont know if its true or not, but it worked for me.
