I am very sorry to hear that you lost so much Sky. Especially since it was a man made situation and not nature. No reason you should have been without power for so long imo.

    Thanks.
I do plan on getting a generator ASAP and am starting a side business to support my reefing habit...i mean hobby (or is it both :cheesy:).
So it's high on the list since winter storms do wreak havoc on the power around here as well.
But yeah it is maddening, am on my way to the LFS to pick up some replacement frozen food for the fishies.

Glad to hear it wasn't a total wipeout, but sorry to hear of your losses.I'm buying a battery pump asap as we had a power outage for about 4 hours several days ago due to a car hitting a power pole.Made me nervous and that was only 4 hours! Best of luck on everything that pulled through.

I hear ya' on the winter storms! Living in SD we have ice storms that tear power lines down and it's off for days. A generator was on the list when I began building. It saved my hiney last winter for sure.

We lost power for a day or so for the same reason a month or so ago.

I'm sure it did. Could've been worse for me I'm just glad it wasn't hot or cold.
Just have to do some research on the best generator for my money oh and space as I don't want something huge to have to move or store.
