    Hi all,

Would one Reefbreeders Photon 16 light fixture be enough light for a 65 tank (36X18X24)? I would like have a mixed reef tank with a variety of corals. Would I likely have any shadowing in the tank?

    Thanks much!

for that length you will have shadowing at the ends of the tank in my opinion. that sized light is good for about 24x18 area in my opinion. as far as punch, it will reach to the bottom well. I would look into the Photo 24 instead if it were me.

FWIW, I have a model similar to the Photon 32 over my 32" wide tank. it is more than that tank needs, but going to a smaller unit casts way too much spotlight in the middle and shadows on the ends.

Thanks, Pickupman! I was leaning toward the Photon 24 for the reasons you mention. I appreciate your reply.
