    my new zoanthid isn't really opening up only 5 or so polyps are opening! is it dieing?:confused:

    How long have you had it? If it is new, it may simply be acclimating to your tank. In my experience zoanthids are very hardy. I have fragged mine to new rocks only to have the old rock regrow with the leftover tissue from the old zoantids.

    Also, what are your water parameters? What type of lighting are you using as well?

    And also, does it havea brownish algae on them? When my zoas are not opening up i put them in higher flow and they will open most of the time..

    Have you also checked for parasitic snails an/or nudibranchs?

    i did not know your tank was that old i thought it was still cycling? you should wait till you have fish for a while before you add coral

    Iv'e had it for 2 days now the water is fine the lights are 18 watt PC lights that come with the nano cube!
