I have a macro tank that is coming along nicely. I really want a midas blenny but I don't want it munching on all of my macros. I know they are more carnivorous than other blennies but places that sell them online still recommend algae and plant matter in their diet. I just want one to add color but if there is a risk then I won't get one as I value my plantlife more than any fish in there.

Mine eats film algae every now and then, and very rarely, but I've never seen him go after the "seaweed" (aka algae) I clip in for the tang and angel. I don't have any macros though, so I'm not sure about that.

Ok thanks for the information. Does anyone have any experience keeping them with live Macro Algae?
