why does this happen with return pumps

    This is the second one that has done this to me. i use them (one for literally 5 mintues, other for a few months) then keep them in the box as a backup unit.
    When i go to use them again they are both froze up, nothing happens at all...

    Why does this happen and is there a fix or a way to prevent this?

    Could the motor be gunked up?

    Probably a silly question, but are you rinsing the saltwater off the pump before allowing it to dry?

    in one case yes, other case no :/
    but i have had them in a vinegar bath for about a half hour now and still nothing
