Why would I want just 1 mentor when I can have many?

Who determines who is qualified to be a mentor?

I see people give advice everyday on a few salt sites and when I eventually see their tank/s I wouldnt want their advice.

I say the proof is in the pudding or the fruit doesnt fall far from the tree. When I see some one thats been in the hobby for a few years and has a great looking tank thats the person I want advice from. Chances are he knows how to make different set ups work because he has tried a few.

If some one wants mentored that bad why cant they just Pm some one they respect in the hobby? Isnt that what we do now? I have never had any one get upset with a good question sent in a pm.

hell I would love to have one! I know I am going to make mistakes, I know I am going to have problems, even with the help of a mentor this forum has been more then an eye opener. with mentors you could bounce ideas off of and see if they are good or off base.

when I get my build farther along I know I am going to be seeking more help! and best part is I am not scared to ask!

This is very true, that was my point in the whole post.
Say when the article is written ( provided the poll is successfull ) that,
    *Mission*
    *Marty*
    *Tangster*
(example only guys im not signing you up ,it's totally up to you I figure the article when properly written out can always be editted to put a "mentor's" name in there.)
But this is saying im availible to give "you" the undivided attention and i'm here for ya. ( easy to find ya ).
And those that feel they are confident with their skill/experiance can do so, real simple.

I've listened to too many over the years and most at the same time. It hasn't worked cause everyone wasn't on the same page. Too many ways of doing something. I say stick with one or two people, who you've seen their tank and they prove to you what they do works and go for it. If after 1 year of mentoring and you don't see results or haven't learned what you thought you should have learned(if that makes any sense...in Linda land it does), switch mentors, no harm no foul. Might just save ya a ton of money in the long run.

My current mentors are Geekdafied and Wildreef. Though many don't agree with their methods, what they tell me has been working, so I'll stick with em.....if Geek will have me back that is

LOL, I been trying to get brian to take you back linda , but to no avail.
You'd better have timers on those lights !..lol
    (example again people )
DO NOT depend on teen age son's ( linda's ) to turn lights on/off for the right amount of time while your gone outa town for the week end. lol,
