That is just cruel. I don't think that will ever work out. Besides, saltwater fish are so much cooler than fw fish, so why would you even want them in the same tank.

I've heard of this before, there at one time was supposedly a liquid that allowed both to live together. Can't remember where, but I don't think it's inhumane if it's not just some idiot dropping salt into fresh and vice versa. If it's formulated to give the inhabitants what they need, so be it. Another example below. I don't think it's fake.

there are some freshwater fish that can be switched over to saltwater (not easily....but acclimate over a prolonged period of time) Definately brackish water fish and certain other fish....mollies, ghost shrimp etc.

However the mixture of that tank is ridicolous. Goldfish, seahorses, clowns.....horrible! The fish have to be miserable.

One thing we have to remember in this hobby is.....just because it seems like it is working at the present, doesnt mean it should be done. This is definately shortening the life of all those fish in that tank. Plus I cant imagine the amount of waste produced....esp wtih the goldfish!

Well it doesn't seem to be working too well, the clowns look sick. Those seahorses can't compete with those goldfish.
