White sponge type substance

    It just appeared out of nowhere in a matter of days. Can someone tell me if I should remove this from the colony pictured? It's in the middle of the picture and should be white in color but the camera didn't pick that up.

    Looks like a type of sponge, but if it appeared that quickly out of no where then in my opinion anything that grows that fast can spread quickly and choke out corals. I would remove it just to be on the safe side.
