    Hi all,
The walls of my sump have become covered in small, white, hard, sharp things. Almost like barnacles. In fact, could be barnacles.
They also start to appear on the front glass, but I clean them off with a scraper. It;s almost like grains of sand on the glass.
Can anyone tell me what these are?

    thanks,
    Jan

That's cool- but they just stay as hard bumps- are the featherdusters not fully developing for some reason? All my parameters are pretty good...

If you don't scrap them off they will develop. Give them awhile as they are not hurting anything only helping. Plus they will give your sump some character. ;)

I am not convinced that they are feather dusters. Could they be vermetid snails. The claim was the are hard and sharp, correct? All my dusters are soft.

I'll try to get a pic. Yes they are quite hard and sharp.
