    i currently have:
    - 4 ft. Maristar 500W lighting system
    - Korilia Magnum 5 and 6

Both work amazing and i couldnt have asked for better "beginner" equpiment, BUT its time for this dude to upgrade! So heres my question:

what should i get first? (Ill eventually have both of these, but due to the insaine price i can only do so much, you know how it goes)

    - 2 Ecotech Radion XR30W's
    OR
    - 2 Ecotech Vortech MP40W's

I'm leaning twords the lights because these MH's are very costly on the electric bill, and they make my office 5 degrees warmer than the rest of the house in the winter time, so i can only imagine what ill have to deal with in the Summer.

On the other hand, with 2 MP40w's in my tank, i wouldn't have these huge powerheads the size of bolders hoggin up valuable swimming space. Dont get my wrong these magnums are very powerful, but they are eye sores, and they dont do anything but come on and off, when you plug or unplug them. And i would Love to see a wave :)

So help me choose:) what one do you think i should get first and why ?

whats in your tank, livestock wise? but lights for sure! May as well start saving money now before bulb replacements and then the upcoming summer heat issue! unless ya wanna buy a chiller!;)

do the lights first, save some money on the bills, your corals need light more than flow. and you already have flow. so after a while you can purchase the vortech.

Lights first. You don't need all that flow right now for what you've got. Go lights, them MPs!!

I wasnt sure if i should go with the pumps or the lights first, both are awesome, both let you customize to your liking and i feel that having that option will increase my time/dedication to the tank. so ill prolly go from 50% of my free time to 85-90% of my free time spent on the tank :D

Yea I say get the lights first also. The pumps will communicate with the lights wireless and you will reap the benefits.
