aqua c is a very good skimmer and if you can afford it thats the way to go, if however you can't, the excalibur works very well for a inexpensive skimmer.

I'm going to echo what Darin says about the Urchin. I bought mine from CAPTIVEREEFS.com ;D, and from all I've read, skimmers can be pretty touchy to dial in, even the turboflotor,And the urchin is as we say in the NAV, Sailor proof!!! Just Plug and play. but you should not just settle for what you think you can spend now. you stated that you don't need it yet, that you were thinking of moving up to keeping corals. Well I can tell you that the price of corals can get pretty steep, and you want them as happy as you can, as a crash of your tank will be much more expensive than the $160 you throw at an extremely important piece of equipment. So save a little more money as you keep visiting the LFS's and pick out your LUCKY corals that are going into your properly skimmed tank. 8).

Just another note, the Lighting is important to corals too!!! 8) so save for some adaquate PC or MH lighting as well. there is plenty of discussion about that here too!!

    Good Luck!!

I am in the category of persons who bought a less expensive skimmer, and ended up tossin it out and buying a 170 dollar one later.....
