    Hi all, I've got a 5.5th x 2.5ftx 2.5th tank..currently looking for a protein skimmer...been offered a skimmer (Reef Octopus SUPER
SRO 5000SSS In-Sump Protein Skimmer) by 1 of my fellow reefers... Wondering whether its suitable for my 5.5ft reef tank...or you guys could suggest me a good protein skimmer? Thx

I don't know of any skimmer that would be appropriately sized for such a small tank. Most people tend to just go with a refugium for a filtration on their pico tanks, and/or a HOB filter.

    5.5 ft x 2.5ft x 2.5ft ?
    Thats 66 x 30 x 30 inches or over 250 US gallons

Seano thinks this is a small tank? dude you must have a swimming pool with saltwater in then LOL

Reefmaniac - around the www. I have seen the SRO5000 used on tanks up to 300 gallons

They are rated for tanks/systems up to 400 gallons, but as you know a lot depends on bio load

Steve you don't have fish swimming with you in your saltwater pool? :p ::)

I thought the thread title said 5.5 gallon. +1 to What Steve suggested.

    I should get some sleep.
