Just go with the 1" for $40. This is for tank thickness between .25" and 1". This the smallest size, but will easily fit over the biocube walls.

For $15, go with the double. Redundancy is important with an ATO. Things go wrong sometimes, better to have the high level shutoff as well, just in case.

Do you have a sump or is this going "in tank"?

I ask because the double requires about 2 inches between each sensor. This would not work to well in the display tank. If in a sump/reservoir, please ignore.

I have the double unit. It has performed flawlessly for over 2.5 years without a single cleaning of the unit. It has not once risen to the second sensor. I do however check it periodically to make sure it works.

Although it's much more expensive, I can't recommend the Tunze 3155 ATO enough, it's awesome. Look into it if you had the $, it's got so many safety's really makes me feel confident and secure having it on my tank. It tops off like a champ, set it, forget it, my sump level has stayed perfect since I put it on. Tunze Osmolator Universal 3155

I was thinking of putting one on my 28 gal JBJ. I have one on my 150 from BRS that has worked flawlessly for 2 years, but to big for the nano. Thanks for the idea! Goona get the double float though. Better safe than sorry. :)

I built mine using the Plans Provided Here and an old MJ 400.

The float switches are cheap so you can get two if you want to add a second switch for safety. Float Switch
