If you cannot find a good LFS then I would go with some of the reliable online vendors.
Unless you know what you are buying I would stay away from eBay. I have bought cheap stuff from eBay only to find out that it is junk. MH bulbs is a big one to stay away from on eBay.

Bulk Reef Supply has been great to deal with. I bought their RO/DI unit and couldn't be happier.

BRS and SPectra pure have good ROs..... AFAIC.... every reefer should have an account at BRS. I love them and am happy to support them. RO or not.

I agree do not try and go cheaper. I tried that on a ro/di unit recently and ended up ordering a spectrpure unit from their sponsor page on this site and got
a great deal. I should recieve it tomorrow. I'm excited to make some ro/di water how
    funny is that!!!! Lol........

oh and many thanks to desertrat and fellow 3 reef members for alll the help.

You can pretty much do any of what you are proposing phong. I've learned that my LFS really wasn't doing much for me in the way of "helping out". They were actually just helping themselves. Too bad....don't feel a bit sorry either.
I agree with all the guys on here & I usually shop online now. I've also learned to try and give business to 3reef sponsors first. Without them, I'd have to crawl back to my LFS to get answers, advice & equipment....yikes!!!
