So was doing some extinsive research into the oldest thread and noticed a glitch in the system. I figured that by matts start date I could find post from 2000. Well to my suprise no such luck. So I started to dig deeper and started to look at members list and found only member from 2002. hum this got me thinking. I went through a few post and read some intersting info on old filters the eco wheel and DSB and even using lace rock. When it hit me like a ton of bricks. This sounds crazy and loonly toons but I think matt sent all the old 3reefers back to the 1970's. Why I don't know. Maybe they weren't posting or maybe they just made matt mad. Now you may ask your self how has 10 acre found this out. Well the answer lies in the last activity of the members in 2002 through 2005ish some where in there. If you look at some of these peoples activity they say kid you not 1-1-1970. Now the only way is that the people that stoped posting after 2002 were not erased only banished to the past. It was throught the modern marvel of computers that there thoughts live on. So the moral of this storie is to not stop posting on 3reef or matt will banish you to the 70's. Ahhhhh disco is not dead.
Thanks for reading and maybe matt will key me in on the oldest post, if I don't get banished.
Reason why I wanted to see oldest post was cause I wanted to see how far our hobbie has come.
    :p

I did somehow stumble on some people that used to post here and now post on RC, don't ask why they would but found it interesting how far the posts go back. I found 2002 I think as well. Too bad we cant bring everyone back into the fold!!

Ok your new name is spellcheck. :)

Back in 2002 I exported the old YaBB version of the forum into the present vBulletin. In doing so - which was a very hair-raising process - some dates on posts got lost. In programming land, this sometimes causes the date to be set at 1970 or 1969.

Members come and go over the years. Recently the 1st member here - Karlas - showed up for a post or two.

cool thanks for the info. I really was just looking to see how old equipment and info has changed over the years. Thought it would be a funny write up and ment no harm by it. I could tell there was some catastrophic event. There was a post I came across that people wern't getting e-mails and you were going to have to change system. I figured that is all that happend. I also noticed the number of people that become members and never post. But I am sure people come and go just like in any business or walk of life. Thanks again and if you want to make my name spell check I am the worst speller in history. Maybe back log or something like that

    Excuses, excuses. :)

Matt, You once posted a link to a website that saved old pages of 3reef (and others of course). Do you remember the link? Might be of use
