Tank is approaching 3rd week of cycling process. I was wondering at what point can we add macro-algae and pods to the refugium? Would also like to seed my tank for coraline - noted many references to "commercial seeding kits" in google search, but unable to find a place to buy them. Anyone have a line on that?

do you have any live rock? best corraline seed from what i read. so i put 50lbs of base rock and 25lbs of live rock into my 75gal i started recently.

as for macroalgae, i already put some chaeto into the fuge (small handful which wound up having a freakin aiptasia in it so i cleaned the hell out of it and currently have my fuge not moving water to see if there are any aiptasia spores that sprout up). for the few days the fuge was online it hadnt changed anything with regard to my 'cycle'. i still have high NO2/NO3 with 0 NH3. waiting for the cycle to finish and then i personally intend to seed the tank/fuge with pods and add in a ton more macroalgae to the fuge. wait a few more weeks and then ill test everything and see if i can add a beginner coral. not sure how far along in the cycle your tank is.

Wait to add the macro algae until after the cycle has fully been completed and you have some livestock in the tank.

As far as coraline, you most likely won't need to seed anything, just keep your parameters up and on target and it will grow by itself.

I started adding macro algae at the 3 week point in my system. The key to me was the formation of some algae in the DT/Sump/Refugium...if the un-wanted algae can grow, so can macro algae...just don't buy very much to start with...

I'm just now (almost 6 weeks) adding some pods to the sump. And, I'm only doing that to get a jump start on the pod grow out so that we may be in a position around 6 months to purchase a mandarin.

As for coraline...I suspect the live mud we seeded the refugium with has been the seed to start it in the tank as it has begun growing out in the DT "on its own"...

Edit: We did start our system with 6 fish and year old live rock...

Thanks to - bje, GuitarMan89 and grubbsj for the feedback. Sounds like I should wait until cycle is complete.
